英汉服饰范畴中配饰的国俗文化共性

On Folk Cultural Similarities between English and Chinese Dress Accessories

通过挖掘、剖析英汉服饰范畴中腰带、饰带、冠饰、配挂件等边缘成员背后的传统习俗与价值理念,发现两民族在上述佩饰领域存在明显国俗共性:如"腰带"与"爱情"的关联,"鸟羽"隐喻"勇武","桂冠"代指"最高成就与荣誉",汉语"罗缨"和英语"交手结"都象征"男女相属与厮守"等。认识和了解这些共性有利于促进两民族文化交流的同时,对英汉语为二语的学习者加深相关词汇背后的文化理解、提高二语学习者综合人文素养,以及对外语教学等都有一定指导意义。

This paper probes into the depth of cultural connotations between English and Chinese dress accessories such as“belt” ,“ribbons” ,“feathered caps”and the like,getting at similarities of folk culture and traditional values between the twopeoples. And the shared folk values are mainly as follow：the association between“belt”and“love” ,“feather”alluding to“bravery” ;“laurel”to“high achievements”and Chinese“luo ying （its English equivalent：hand-fastening ribbon）”to“marriage and togetherness”.A certain awareness of the shared cultural similarities between the above mentioned dress accessoriesis instrumental not only in better cross-cultural exchange,but also in deeper understanding,for second language learners inparticular,of cultural motivations behind the correlative language expressions. And in addition,this awareness is helpful as well inforeign language teaching.
