一个乡村的社会史、政治史、经济史和文化史也是一个国家、一个民族发展历程的反映。然而,随着城镇化进程的加快和社会流动的加速,乡村的历史面貌,由于缺乏历史记录,而越来越快地被人们淡忘了。而这种淡忘给后人所带来的精神文化缺失也正越来越显著地表现出来。所以,收集乡村档案史料,抢救乡村历史记录,保存乡村历史文化,不仅是当前农村文化建设的一项重要工作,也是整个中国政治、经济和文化建设中的一项战略工程。
