The author conducts a case study of a great book reading course offered by A University. It is found that the so-called "basic questions" of great book reading course is not only the starting point of integrative learning, but also the combination of multiple dimensions of integrative learning. Therefore, the basic questions serve as the "curriculum's eyes". Students are expected to understand history and reality through understanding the various forms of basic questions in both historical and present context, which is a process that integrates text and experience. Students integrate interdisciplinary knowledge by understanding these questions reflected in various disciplines. The discussion of the realistic performance of these questions helps to realize the integration of multiple values among students. The research conclusions provide important implications for the teaching of general education curriculum and the learning and development of college students.
