About Literature: Why must We Take Western Literature as the Stantard?——Talking from the Different Understandings about Literature between China and Western Countries

中国和西方对于文学的认知不同,中国文学的水准也绝不低于西方文学。同时,文学的重要特质是独特性,这独特性决定了文学本来就是是多样化的。基于上述认识,我们不应该以西方的认知为唯一标准来评判我国的文学,而应该坚持以中为本,洋为中用。文学批评应该如此,文学创作也应该如此。

There are different understandings about literature between China and western countries,and the level of Chinese literature is not worse than that of western literature at all. The significant characteristic of literature is uniqueness that decides its diversity. Therefore,we should not take western understanding as the only standard to judge Chinese literature,but adapt western standard to Chinese literature. It is suitable for literary criticism as well as literary creation.
