Rituals and Politics----Centered on the Organization and Mobilization of Chen Bray's Funeral Activities

葬礼的表征是仪式性的,突出文化色彩的,但其所指真相或者"深处"则是政治层面的,而陈布雷葬礼活动正是这样一个渗透着政治动力与政治目的的表现场所。国民党利用其殡葬仪式,进行广泛的组织、动员,使陈布雷"忠君""、忧劳为国"的精神内核获得认同,社会其他组织及民间团体也自发地参与进来,赋予陈布雷模范、榜样的作用;陈布雷殡葬仪式成为国民党统治危机下的一种政治自救意义上的活动。

Rituality and cultural color are characteristic of funerals, but deep inside they are more political. Chen Bray＇s funeral activities are exactly such a performance saturated with political power and political purpose. The KMT used his funeral ceremony to carry out a wide range of organization and mobilization, in order to make Chen Bray＇s spirit of ＂loyalty＂, ＂worries about the nation＂ to be recognized. Other social organizations and civil groups also got spontaneously involved and established Chen Bray as a role model. The Chen Bray＇s funeral ceremony became a kind of political self-help activity that saved the KMT from ruling crisis.
