Cultural Relics Restorer

三峡文物保护工程中出土了大批青铜器,存在着不同程度的锈蚀、残缺、变形、裂隙等病害。由于锈蚀加剧,有些青铜器上珍贵的铭文和纹饰已难以辨认。在重庆中国三峡博物馆,文物修复师们担起了为它们＂治病疗伤＂,恢复旧貌,重新回到世人眼前的工作。这份工作的精细与繁复程度令人瞠目,修复师除了要有扎实过硬的技术,沉得住气,更需要一股特殊的支撑力。

A large number of bronze wares have been excavated in Cultural Heritage Conservation of Three Gorges Project, yet most of them are corroded, incomplete, deformed, and cracked in various degrees. Some rare in-scription and ornamentation are almost illegible due to serious erosion. In Chongqing China Three Gorges Mu-seum, restorers work hard to repair these cultural relics. This meticulous and complicated restoration requires excellent techniques, patience, and even stamina.
