现代性与现代化是两个既有内在联系又有差别的概念。当今医学现代化问题主要是现代性问题,没有现代性就不会有真正的现代化。现代化追求的是技术和物质的发展,现代性显示的是社会文明和精神文化价值的进步。现代化是现代的一种表现形式,现代性才是其根本内涵。在现代化高速发展的今天,只有认识现代化与现代性的关系,才能真正明确现代化的发展方向,探索适合中国国情的医学现代化道路;随着医学现代性文明的发展,医学也将会迎来更加充实的精神家园。

Modernity and modernization are two concepts which have both internal relations and differences. The problem of medical modernization is mainly the problem of modernity. Without modernity, there will be no real modernization. Modernization pursues technology and material development, while modernity shows progress of civilization and spiritual values. Modernization is a manifestation, while modernity is connotation. Only by understanding the relationship between modernization and modernity can we make clear direction of modernization, explore the path of medical modernization for China. With the development of modern medical civilization, medicine will also usher in a more fulfilling spiritual home.
