In 2013, Xi'an Municipal Institute of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Archaeology excavated two burials of the Han Dynasty at the Daming Palace Central Square in northern suburb of Xi'an City. These two burials were intact preserved and yielding rich grave goods with complete assemblages. Comprehensively considering their locations, structures and characteristics of their grave goods, these two burials are estimated to be that of the low-ranking officials or common people living nearby the Chang'an City during the Xin Dynasty (Wang Mang Interregnum) to the mid Eastern Han Dynasty.
