In Japan, three kinds of dated bronze mirrors made by a Chinese craftsman named "Chen Shi 陈是 (or Chen Shi 陈氏 , namely certain person whose surname was Chen)" have been unearthed. Their designs and design arrangements are clearly different from that of the bronze mirrors with the same motifs unearthed in China, which reflected the impacts of the cultures of the two peoples and the significant changes in the designing ideas of the bronze mirror patterns. These changes were caused by the involvement of the shamanistic culture of Japan; Queen Himiko gave requirements to the mirror designs, and Chen Shi was responsible for the concrete changing and making of the mirrors. On the mirrors with changes made by him, relevant inscriptions and peculiar designs were shown, which also provided the internal links between him and the bronze mirrors made in Xuzhou and the clues for tracking the origins of the "sankaku-buchi shinjukyo (triangular-rimmed deity and beast mirror)" of early Japan.
