Objective To study fever duration and coronary artery lesion damage of Kawasaki disease (KD) in children. Methods 42 cases of KD from January 2013 to June 2014 in Maoming Dianbai District People's Hospital were selected, all patients received cardiac ultrasound examination to observe the presence of coronary artery disease, and were divided into the observation group with 10 cases combined with coronary artery lesions and control group with 32 cases without coronary artery lesions, according to the examination results. The fever duration between the two groups were compared. Results The body temperature of 8 cases (80.00%) in the observation group returned to normal at fourth day after admission, 2 cases (20.00%) returned to normal for more than 7 days after admission. In the control group, the body temperature of 18 cases (56.25%) recovered to normal at second day after treatment, 14 cases (43.75%) recovered to normal at third day. Among the 10 patients in the observation group, the type of coronary lesion were coronary artery dilatation with 4 cases (40.00%), and coronary artery aneurysm with 6 cases (60.00%). Conclusion Early diagnosis and active treatment, shorten the duration of fever in children with KD can reduce the incidence of coronary artery disease.
