摘要
本文选取了 52 篇国内外大班教学文献进行综述分析.分析后发现, 对于大班的概念及班级规模对学生学习成绩的影响,学界存在争议.就英语学科而言,大部分研究者认为大班会导致诸多问题, 如教学问题、 管理问题和情感问题等.为解决上述问题, 研究者也提出了不少策略, 如更新教学模式, 采用同伴互助, 在课堂中使用现代科技辅助教学等.然而, 笔者也发现,以往研究存在同质化现象严重, 对中小学阶段英语大班教学研究偏少, 研究方法单一,实证研究较少等问题,研究者还需结合我国实际情况进行进一步深入研究.
This article is a review of 52 research on teaching English to large classes over the past thirtyyears. It is found that there is controversy regarding the concept of“large classes”and the impact of class sizeon students’academic performance. As far as teaching English is concerned, most researchers believed thatlarge classes would result in such problems as pedagogical problems, management problems and affectiveproblems. The researchers also proposed a number of strategies to solve the problems caused by large classes,such as updating the teaching methodologies, using peer assistance, adopting modern technology in theclassroom. However, there is serious homogeneity among previous studies, anda lack of research on large-class English teaching in primary and secondary schools, especially empirical ones. Researchers need tofurther study this phenomenon in combination with the actual situation in China.
