To the Editor: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a major public heahh issue, resulting in accelerated development of diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, and even cancer. Resting heart rate (RHR) may be an independent risk factor for MetS. Herein, we reported a cohort study to determine the association of RHR with the risks of MetS in general population in northern China.
