摘要
本研究拟从学习文化视角探讨合作学习在大学英语课堂上的适用性,为此笔者对52名非英语专业大学生进行了问卷调查和访谈。调查结果表明:(1)学生整体上对合作学习表示接受和喜欢;(2)学生认为合作学习有助于满足他们的情感需求和提高他们的学习参与度,但不认为合作学习有助于成绩提高;(3)中国大学生的英语学习还是以应试为主,学习策略上偏向传统学习方法。根据调查结果,本文从学习文化的视角,剖析当代大学生对合作学习既欢迎又怀疑的矛盾心理及形成原因,并提出合作学习不仅适用于中国语境下的大学英语教学,也有利于大学英语学习者对新学习策略的适应和采纳。
This study aims to investigate the applicability of cooperative learning of college English class by means of questionnaires and interviews administered to a class of 52 non-English freshmen. The results of the study indicate:(1) college students generally perceive cooperative learning and show preference;(2) they think that cooperative learning can provide them with emotional support and promote their participation in group activities, but cannot improve their grades in the English examination;(3) Chinese students' learning strategies are still traditional ones and are mostly examination-oriented. From the perspective of cultures of learning, this paper attempts to analyze the causes of the current students' seemingly paradoxical attitude towards cooperative learning, and concludes that cooperative learning is applicable to college English classroom in Chinese context and may help students adapt and adopt new learning strategies.
