伊恩·麦克尤恩2012年创作的《甜牙》以20世纪70年代"英国军勤五处"作为故事发生的场所。麦克尤恩在小说中巧妙地将权力关系的交锋和冲突融入到空间的建构和规划中。另外,麦克尤恩还细致地刻画了军勤五处的当权者操纵话语对下层女职员进行规训和压制。借此,作家揭示了处在权力压制下作为"他者"的女职员所承受的创伤。

Ian Mc Ewan＇s novel Sweet Tooth in 2012 takes MI5 as the backdrop. Mc Ewan in fiction makes ingeniously confrontation and conflict of the power relations bend in with the construction and planning of the space. In addition,the writer depicts carefully the authorities in MI5 who manipulate the discourse to discipline and repress the lower female staff. In so doing,the writer reveals the traumas of the lower female staff as ＂other＂.
