《师父》建构了一个迥异于传统武侠电影的新型武侠世界,其中蕴含着浓重的末世情调。传奇武侠走下神坛,被还原消解为武人;崩坏变质的行业规矩令武林江湖沦为逐利场;在礼崩乐坏的时代里,武学走向穷途末路。不仅是武林,旧时代以及托身于旧时代的一切都不可避免地走向消逝。徐浩峰用末世江湖的心态与价值观为"逝去的武林"谱写了一曲挽歌。

Movie ＂Master＂ constructs a new world of martial arts with a strong eschatological feature which is quite different from the traditional swordsmen films. The legendary swordsmen have been changed into normal person working in the world of martial arts,and the deteriorated rules of the industry make the world of martial arts profit-oriented. Actually,all the old times and the old things are inevitably gone. XU Hao-feng depicts a falling world of martial arts with the mentality and values of eschatology.
