Naoge is the ancient military music. Each dynasty has its own successive works since the eighteen Naoges in Han Dynasty. By imitating Naoges in Han and Wei Dynasties,Liu Zongyuan composed twelve ＂Naoges＂,the only series of Naoge works of the Tang Dynasty,which occupied an important position in the history of development. Liu Zongyuan＇s Naoge focused on theme of military achievements of founding Tang Dynasty,highlighting Tang＇s grand atmosphere. Using metaphor widely,possessing rich artistic expression and full of momentum,Liu Zongyuan reflected his loyalty to serve the country and yearning for country＇s unity or national strength,which sustenances the ambition of rejuvenation of the Tang Dynasty and represents his highest poetic achievements,whose value in literature and literary history should be paid more attention to in academic circles.
