In the new era, the system of political parties with Chinese characteristics is defined as a ＂new-type system of political parties＂. To understand this system, it requires a more in-depth analysis of its political characteristics. Taking good public life as the guide, this paper adopts a historical perspective, and analyzes and elaborates the political characteristics of the system of political parties with Chinese characteristics based on the integration of theory and practice. In terms of its origin and development, the system of political parties with Chinese characteristics has such political characteristics as being endogenetic, creative, adaptable and sustainable. In terms of the system＇s intrinsic factors and their mutual relations, it has such political characteristics as being theoretical, open, pluralistic, consultative, and concentric. In terms of its interaction with the external environment, this system has such political characteristics as being integrating, guiding, guaranteeing, and demonstrational. The revealing of these political characteristics will help clarify the basic development orientation of the system of political parties with Chinese characteristics and strengthen people＇s confidence in taking the path of the system of political parties with Chinese characteristics.
