摘要
在科技突飞猛进、国际交流日益频繁的今天,社会对非英语专业大学生英语水平的要求越来越高,因此,大学英语教师在教学中面临的挑战也越来越大。仅仅依靠教师讲授为主的课堂教学这一传统教学模式已经无法满足学生的学习需求。如何与时俱进,转变教学理念与教学模式已经成为大学英语教师必须面对和亟待解决的问题。本文针对传统教学理念与教学模式单一的现状,通过教师引导学生在课外借助智能手机自主学习英语进行实证研究,探索大学英语教学课外延伸的新途径。通过两年来深入而系统的调查、分析与研究,得出如下结论:在教师的引导下,学生在课外借助智能手机自主学习英语的程度及频率与他们英语水平的提高成正比。目前借助智能手机自主学习英语已成为衡量大学生英语水平的重要因素。借助智能手机,现在的大学生学习英语的方式发生了极大的转变,这种转变从长期与整体上看,是量变与质变的关系,它促进了大学生英语水平的提高。
With the rapid development of science and technology, requirements of society for non-English major college students’ English level are becoming more and more demanding and therefore challenges college English teachers are facing in the course of their teaching are going more and more intense. Traditional single teaching mode of teacher lecturing has become out of date and cannot meet students’ demands. Thus it is crucial for college English teachers to catch the pace of the development of society and to transform their teaching concepts and modes in order to deal with these urgent problems. The purpose of this research project is to compensate for the shortcomings of traditional single teaching mode and concept, by the empirical study, exploring the new way of college English teaching and learning mode, that is, requiring students to learn English autonomously outside the teaching class through the means of smart phone under teachers’ guidance. After two years’ systematic and thorough study, the research group has drawn the following conclusion: under teachers’ guidance, extent and frequency of student’ s autonomous learning by the means of smart phone are proportional to their English level. Thus it is an important element for college English teachers to measure students’ English level by checking whether students have already used the new teaching and learning mode mentioned above. By using smart phones, students’ way of learning English has undergone a dramatic transform. This change, taken from a long run and from a comprehensive angle, is both qualitative and quantitative, it leading to the improvement of students’ English level ultimately.
