As the consensus in the academic circle, material life is the basic starting point of historic materialism,but the theoretical connotations of 冶material life冶 is both shadowy and broad which keeps Marxism in the shade. Weshould eliminate the ambiguity of materiellen Lebens and probe into the first and fourth editions of German Ideology from ＂material life＂, so as to clarify how Marx discarded the metaphysics and mystery of Hegel爷s historical philosophy and abandon the ＂life＂ that Hegel insisted as ideas, which is an important point where Marxism overthrown Hegel＇s philosophy.
