巴音库鲁提金多金属矿位于西南天山北缘活动带,麦兹-阔克塔勒晚古生代陆缘盆地(塔里木板块)是其大地构造位置所在。古生代地层是区内主要的地层出露,碎屑岩-碳酸盐岩主要发育于沉积盆地内,其类型主要呈现稳定型以及次稳定型为主要特征。巴音库鲁提铜多金属矿含矿岩石主要是碳酸盐岩建造特征(中泥盆统托格买提组),呈浅海相形类型。不仅具有非常大的厚度,而且具有非常稳定的展布特征,主要呈现层控类型。矿体主要产于中泥盆统托格买提组地层中。区内断裂、褶皱较为发育,矿区地表岩石矿化蚀变主要表现为碳酸岩化、黄铁矿化、褐铁矿化等。
