As a leading educator and director of theater studies with insight and wisdom, Xu Xiaozhong has a good understanding of the new environment of the Chinese theater industry after the reform and opening up. Therefore, he has put forward series of new ideas of school management and has taken far-reaching reform measures on the education of theater studies, opening a new chapter in the Central Academy of Drama. Since then, theories, strategies and major thoughts of drama direction have been greatly changed in the academy. Thanks to the innovative thoughts and teaching methods, Chinese higher education of drama direction has been brought into a new era.
