An introduction was made on the basic information of Tuoying Reservoir and Irrigation Zone Project, andon the general layout of channels. In view of the landform characteristics of hilly area, two Ningming trunk channellayout alternatives were compared in respects of topographical conditions, water supplementing benefits, construc-tion conditions, land requisition and cost, before the upper route scheme was selected.
