清代吴地士人的两种生存困惑及其启示——以钱谦益与翁同龢的晚年社会活动为例

Scholars' Two puzzles about Life in Wu District of Qing Dynasty and Lessons We Learn——Illustrated by the Social Activities of Qian Qian-yi and Weng Tong-he in Their Later Years

钱谦益与翁同龢均为清代常熟籍的历史文化名人,从他们的晚年社会活动中可以看到吴地士人的两种生存困惑。钱谦益的生存困惑表现在个体生命价值与君子人格、民族气节的冲突;翁同龢的生存困惑表现为群体与忧患意识和封建专制制度的深刻矛盾。本研究对当下社会生活,以及大学生的人生价值观引导具有警示和启发意义。

Qian Qian-yi and Weng Tong-he, born in Changshu, were historical andcultural celebrities of the Qing Dynasty. Their social activities in their later years displayed that scholars in the District of Wu had two puzzles about life. QianQian-yi ’ s puzzle is seenfrom the conflict betw^een his awareness of individual worth and his pursuit of noble charac-ters of a gentleman as well as moral integrity of a patriot. As for Weng Tong-his shown through the contradiction between the feudal autocracy and his group consciousness of hardship and suffering. The topic discussed here is relevant to the present social life,aswe can learn a good lesson from their stories which are a warning to us.
