Appreciation on the Two Translation Versions of We Are Seven from the Perspective of Beauty in Five Images

英国浪漫主义诗人华兹华斯的诗作《我们是七个》有多个汉译本,其中读者认可度较高的是卞之琳先生的译本和杨德豫先生的译本。依据辜正坤教授的诗歌鉴赏五象美论,比较分析《我们是七个》卞译本和杨译本中的五象美,发现两个译本的五象各具特点,多风格地展现了原诗的特质,卞译本富有韵律、饱含生机,杨译本自然朴素、情感真挚,并为英诗的汉译提供美学视角的建议。

There are more than one Chinese translation versions of the poem We Are Seven written by English ro-mantic poet William Wordsworth, in which the version of Bian Zhilin and the version of Yang Deyu are highly recognized by readers. Based on the theory of beauty in five images from the perspective of poetry appreciation by Professor Gu Zhengkun, the paper attempts to make a comparative analysis of the beauty in five images in Bian9 s version and Yang’s version of We Are Seven,and concludes that the two versions have their own features in five images, and emerge the characteristics of the original poem in multi - styles, Bian ’ s version being full of rhythm and vitality while Yang＇s version being nature and simple with sincere emotion. It offers suggestions from the aesthetic perspective for the Chinese translation of English poetry.
