The location and biological behavior of hilar cholangiocarcinoma are very special,which is one of the most difficult problems in the hepatobiliary surgery.The elderly hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients always are combined with many complications,and the tolerance of the operation is poor,which increases the difficulty of the treatment.Surgeons need to reconsider the treatment strategy in the face of the elderly hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients.In this paper,several problems related to the treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma in the elderly are discussed,and the emphasis is on the surgical treatment.
