Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of fire needle combined with bloodletting in treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods: A total of 70 KOA patients were randomly divided into control group(n=35) and treatment group(n =35). Control group took diclofenac sodium enteric-coated tablets, while treatment group took fire needle combined with bloodletting. The changes of TCM symptom score, visual analogue scale(VAS), index of severity for knee osteoarthritis(ISOA), JOA knee osteoarthritis score, range of motion(ROM) of two groups before and after treatment were compared, and clinical efficacy of two groups were evaluated. Results: Compared with pre-treatment, the TCM symptom score, VAS score and ISOA score of two groups decreased after treatment, but JOA knee osteoarthritis score and ROM increased, and the above indexes of treatment group were better than control group(P〈0.05). The clinical total effective rate of treatment group was 91.73%(32/35), which was higher than 65.71%(23/35) of control group(P〈0.05). Conclusion: Fire needle combined with bloodletting for treating KOA can significantly increase clinical efficacy, relieve clinical symptom, reduce pain, promote recovery of knee joint function and improve survival quality, which has obvious treatment advantages.
