This paper introduces development of a copper L-SX-EW plant near Battle mountain, Nevada, USA,detailed describes the leaching pad and SX-EW plant structuring, innovative design concepts regarding acid mist control and fire prevention and protection, and a number of economic, engineering, and environmental challenges associated with the Phoenix copper leach project. Among them, there are environmental protection measures for final permanent closure heap leaching of copper-mines.
