The Preliminary Exploration on the Newly Discovered Tangut Dictionary

本文讨论的是2014年于北京拍卖的一本迄今不为人知的西夏文刻本字书。基于已经刊布的几张书页图片,笔者对文献内容进行了初步地分析。该字书除前言外由两部分组成,序文部分按照西夏文字构件的次序列举了西夏文草书字例;字书主体部分由一系列能够成词的西夏文字构成,大部分字例后以小字列出同音字。字书结尾标题表明该字书由一些已经亡佚的不同西夏文专著编辑缩减而成。

This article will discuss about an unknown Tangut carving copy dictionary that had beensold in Beijing in 2014. The author did some preliminary analyses on the literature according to severalpublished pieces. There are two parts excepting the preface of this dictionary. The preface enumeratesthe examples of the Tangut cursive scripts in order of the elements of Tangut characters. The main partof this literature is composed of a series of Tangut characters which could form words. Most of thesecharacters are following their homophones by little letters. The ending of this dictionary has indicated itwas edited by some missing Tangut monographs.
