缅甸人吃槟榔的习俗历史悠久,至今仍有深厚的文化土壤和广泛的民俗传承主体。昂山素季发起反槟榔运动,既是革除旧习陋俗,提升民族人口素质的需要,也有益于民盟政府树立改革图新的良好形象,巩固执政地位,为推动其他社会领域的发展变革创造条件。

Burmese eat areca has a long history of customs,there is still a deep cultural soil and a wide range of folkheritage.Aung San Suu Kyi launched ananti-betel nut campaign,not only the need to abolish the old customs andimprove the quality of the national population,but also help that NLD government toestablish a new good image of thereform plan,consolidate the ruling position,to promote the development of other social areas to create conditions forchange.
