Education and Teachers:Fundamentals for China's Long-term Development

尊师重教是中华民族的优良传统,也是中国共产党的优良传统。中国共产党历来就十分尊重教师和重视教师的作用。革命战争年代,把革命知识分子和教师看作是革命的重要力量;社会主义革命和建设时期,把教师看作是培养德智体全面发展、又红又专的劳动者的根本,把师范教育看作是教师的摇篮。改革开放以来,中国共产党把作为知识分子的教师看作是工人阶级的一部分,看作是培养德智体全面发展的建设者和接班人的根本;中国共产党十分重视教师的培养、成长和教师教育的改革和发展。"百年大计,教育为本;教育大计,教师为本"就是改革开放以来全党全国形成的共识。

Respecting teachers （CCP）. The CCP has always is both a tradition for the Chinese respect teachers and their role. In people and the Chinese Communist Party the revolutionary years, the CCP regarded teachers and other intellectuals as the important part of revolutionary force ;in socialist times, teachers are essential to cultivate politically and professionally qualified socialist builders. Ever since 1978, normal education is taken as the cradle of teachers ; teachers, as part of the working class, have become the fundamentals to train all-round qualified country builders and successors of revolutionary course. The training and development of teachers are greatly emphasized. It has become a common agreement that education is fundamental for China＇ s long-term development and that teachers are essential to education.
