作为二十世纪中国杰出的法学家,蔡枢衡在其《中国法理自觉的发展》、《中国刑法史》等代表作中,阐述了其有关中国法理自觉的发展、中国司法的理想、中国刑法的起源和发展、中国刑罚体系的产生和演变等重大的法理学、法史学的学术问题,对中国法理学和法史学的研究做出重大贡献。

Cai Shuheng was an eminent jurist in 20 th century of China. In his books＂conscious development of China＇s jurisprudence＂and＂history of China＇s criminal law＂,he had expounded so many big questions in jurisprudence and history of law： conscious development of China＇s jurisprudence,the ideal of China＇s judiciary,emerge and development of China＇s penalty system,the origin and development of China＇s criminal law,and aso forth. He had made great achievement in studying China＇s jurisprudence and China＇s history of law.
