Correlation between Evaluation of Lip Soft Tissue and Orthodontic Treatment: A Literature Review

通过正畸治疗获得良好的面型是现代正畸追求的目标。面下1/3在评价面部侧貌美观中具有重要意义,唇部软组织在其中占有重要地位,对牙齿、颌骨畸形的治疗最终的变化都将反映在唇部软组织上,而正畸治疗与唇部软组织最密切的关联在于通过拔牙矫治改变唇部软组织进而提高侧貌美观度,因此,对唇部软组织形态的客观评价对错畸形的诊断、正畸治疗及预后的评估意义重大。目前已经有很多种评价唇部软组织的方法及已经有学者对治疗后唇部软组织的变化进行初步预测。

The goal of modern orthodontics is to get a good facial profile through orthodontic treatment. It is important to evaluate the aesthetic appearance of lower anterior face,and soft tissue of the lip plays an important role of this. The changes from treatment of malocclusion is finally reflected on soft lip tissue. The association between orthodontic treatment with the soft tissue of the lips is that tooth extraction is able to enhance the facial profile of patients through changing the lips. Therefore,the objective evaluation of the soft tissue morphology of the lips is of great significance to the diagnosis of malocclusion,orthodontic treatment and prognosis. Nowadays,there are many methods to evaluate the soft tissue of lips and many academicians have preliminary forecasts on the changes of lips after orthodontic treatment.
