In The Sound and the Fury,William Faulkner artistically integrates the Garden of Eden myth into the novel and displays the mental status of members in Compson’s family in order to construct a modern myth of American south. On this basis,he expresses the reflections towards human natures of sin and corruption,analysis on modern man’s survival dilemma and spiritual essence,and confidence to resurrection of humanity.
