The relationship between man and society is the key point that Doris Lessing always concentrates on her masterpiece. The Fifth Child in the 80 s tried to reveal the British social isolation between classes and the pressure that authority exerted on the individual,illustrating the overwhelm and disintegration that social mainstream put on to marginal culture and putting forward the essence of extension of modernity and alienation of human nature by a family tragedy.
