Mutual benefit is the right course for China-US economic relations and trade

中美两国分别为世界第二和第一大经济体,而且互为举足轻重的贸易伙伴,贸易战必然是两败俱伤,谁也不可能获得好处。合则两利,斗则俱伤,合作共赢才是正道。

The two giants China and the United States, respectively the second and the first big economies of the world, are important trading partners mutually. In the event of a trade war inevitably taking place, no one can benefit. It is the right way to achieve win-win cooperation. The total trade volume of China and the United States accounted for 14.2 percent of China's total foreign trade in 2017, which is equal to 1/7. The United States trade with China accounts for 16.43 percent of U.S. foreign trade, nearly a sixth. Contrary to the trade in goods, China has had a large deficit in service trade for many years. China's total trade in services between China and the United States totaled $120.1 billion in 2017, $33 billion in exports to the US, $87.1 billion in imports from the US and $54.1 billion deficit from China.
