Objective To study the significance of serum procalcitonin( PCT) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein( CRP) levels in patients with burn infection during the period of burn infection and infection improvement. Methods A total of 26 patients with burn infection who were treated with burns in our hospital from September 2013 to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The data were divided into two groups, respectively: infection data and infection remission data, dynamic monitoring of serum levels of procalcitonin and high sensitivity C-reactive protein changes, analysis of changes in the relationship between burn infection period and infection improvement period. Results There were significant differences in the levels of PCT and CRP in the period of infection, compared with the infection was improving( P〈0. 01),the PCT and CRP levels in the period of infection improvement were significantly lower than that in the infection period. There was no significant difference in the levels of white blood cells, neutrophils, platelet count,ALT and serum sodium between infection and infection was improving( P〉0. 05). Conclusion The levels of serum procalcitonin and high sensitivity C-reactive protein in burn infection patients have an important value to helping to judge the stage of burn is in infection or in improvement stage of infection. And it is of great guiding significance in the treatment of burn infection.
