Training Students’ Virtue, Promoting Both Virtue and Law, and Cultivating Apex Legal Talent

习近平总书记的重要讲话要求高校从国家战略和法治中国的高度上认识法学专业建设和法治人才培养。中国特色法学教育的培养要求应当是德法兼备，培养过程是德法兼修，把“人”的培养放在更加突出的位置上。而将“人”字略加变形，山东政法学院提出了A型法治人才培养的思路。A的左边竖线代表“德育为先”，右边竖线代表“法育为基”，二者之间相互倾斜，彼此支撑，以法律彰显道德、以道德孕育法律。A中间横线代表“德法交融”，三者的结合即意味着高素质的顶尖（Apex）法治人才。

General Secretary Xi Jinping＇s remarks during his visit to China University of Political Science and Law put forward the new requirement that domestic universities should understand the construction of law major and the cultivation of legal talent from the high level of national strategy and rule of law. One of the requirements of legal education with Chinese characteristics should be the combination of virtue and law, and the education process is the training of both virtue and law, which means that the cultivation of ＂human beings＂ is placed in a highlighted position. If the Chinese character of ＂人 （ren）＂ is transformed a little, it can be recognized as the English letter ＂A＂. Therefore, Shandong University of Political Science and Law puts forward the idea of cultivating ＂Apex＂ legal talent. The left side of letter ＂A＂ means ＂putting moral education for the first＂ and the right side of the letter means ＂putting legal education as the baseline＂. The two sides depend on each other, which indicates that to demonstrate morality with law and to breed law with morality. The middle stroke means the integration of morality and law. The combination of the three means the cultivation of high-quality apex legal talent.
