稿本《雷州记》考述

A Textual Research on the Manuscripts of Records of Leizhou

《雷州记》一卷,清李廷棨撰,为其手写底本,仿唐宋人小体文字,叙述雅洁,记述作者雷州见闻,对雷州山川形势、历史文化、民俗风情、物产风物、人文胜迹的记载,多有裨于雷州史料之处。对地方俗传讹论、夸大附会之说,辩证纠谬,许多记述可补地方史志之阙,是珍贵的地方文献,对研究作者生平事迹、师友交游以及雷州历史文化有重要参考价值。《雷州记》成书于道光二十二年,而《雷州府志》最晚成于嘉庆十五年,嘉庆以后无志,故《雷州记》所记多可补志书之缺,成为史料的重要来源,对雷州乃至广东新方志的纂修提供了新的参考资料。

Records of Leizhou written by Li Tingqi in Qing Dynasty,describes the author＇s experiences in Leizhou. The records which covered Leizhou ＇ topographical features, history, culture, folk customs,products and natural scenery,and cultural relics are very useful for the study on Leizhou＇s history. As a precious local document,the book not only recorded historical events and facts,but also discussed the arguments about the over-exaggerated rumors and offered corrections for the worldly local customs. Records of Leizhou was completed in 1842,while the Chronicles of Leizhou Prefecture was finished no later than in 1810. Since no more local chronicles of Leizhou came after Emperor Jiaqing Period（ 1796-1820）,the records can serve as a necessary and beneficial complement to the authoritative chronicles. As a unique source of historical material,they also provide new reference for the writing of new chronicles for Leizhou as well as Guangdong government.
