Based on the question concerning how and why a technical object could be beautiful,Gilbert Simondon＇s‘techno-aesthetics＇ reveals how technical objects are perceived,identified,and accepted by ordinary people and their culture. The concept of‘technophanie＇plays a central role in his conceptual framework for analyzing interactions between technology and culture,which provides useful insights into the structural characteristics of popular acceptance of technology. Deriving from direct observation on the actuality,‘Techno-aesthetics＇ continues the French tradition of anthropology of technology and meanwhile attends to distinctions of modern technology. A major defect of the theory lies in the lack of examining how economic factors influence technological production.
