Self Cultivating, Family Regulating, Party Ordering: A New Exploration on the Construction of Official Ethics for Party Cadres

修身、齐家、治国、平天下是儒家知识分子终身奋斗的目标,作为新时代的中国共产党官员,必须践行修身、齐家、治党,构建新时代党员干部为官伦理的链条。修己之德是官德构建的起点,廉洁齐家是官德涵养的重要场所,治党为公是官德构建的目标。修己之德的推进路径是坚定理想信念、培养高尚情操、坚持克己奉公。廉洁齐家的推进路径是慎亲情、慎细微、慎交情。治党为公的推进路径是坚持民主决策、严格纪律规矩、推进制度完善。修身、齐家、治党构成了一个辩证统一体。

Most Confucian intellectuals are striving for ＂self cultivating, family regulating, country ordering, and then the world are well-governed＂. The CPC officials in the new era have to practice the same rule, namely, self cultivating, family regulating, party ordering, to construct a workable official ethics. Self cultivating is the starting point for the establishment of the official morality, with incorruptible family the important site and ordering the Party for the public the goal. The advancing path of self-cultivation is to strengthen the faith to ideal, to cultivate the noble sentiment, and to insist on the wholehearted devotion to public duty. The promotion path of incorruptible family is to be cautious about family affection, details as well as friendships. The promotion path of ordering the Party for the public is to uphold democratic decision-making, to strict discipline, and to improve the systems. Therefore, self cultivating, family regulating, and Party ordering constitute a dialectical unity.
