The Influence of Zen on American Pop Art

作为西方传统艺术的反叛,美国波普艺术在创作理念与表现形式上都迥异于以往任何一种艺术样态。波普艺术如此大胆的尝试背后有着东方禅宗美学观念的深刻影响。禅宗美学所强调的无差别、非理性、当下性等观念通过音乐家约翰·凯奇等人的介绍而被美国波普艺术家所接受和吸收,最终发展出美国波普艺术的诸多形式。

As a rebellion of western traditional art,the American pop art is different from any previous art form in its creative concept and expression form. Behind such a bold attempt by pop art,there was a profound influence of Eastern Zen aesthetic concepts. The concept of non-discrimination,irrationality and currentity emphasized by Zen Aesthetics was introduced by a musician named Pope John Cage and others,which was accepted and absorbed by the American pop artists and finally developed many forms of the American pop art.
