In the development of western ecocriticism,the study of place and the sense of place are always the center of argument for theorists. As one of the most acknowledged American Indian Writer and ecocritics,Linda Hogan in her novel Solar Storm represents the American Indian＇s special sense of place rooted in earth and focuses on its relation with their self-identification. The paper mainly analyses how the protagonist reconstructs her sense of place,heals her trauma and remolds her sense of self in the process of returning home,integrating with nature and participating in the environment-protecting activity. Thus,the readers could be awaken to rethink the existing ecological crisis and the relationship between human and place.
