The main problems in the legal mechanism of ecological compensation for water resources development in Ankang were analyzed.There was a single ecological compensation method for water resources development; laws and regulations related to financial support were incomplete; the relevant local regulations and systems were not perfect; the rights and responsibilities between protectors and beneficiaries were not clear; the rights and responsibilities between protectors and beneficiaries were not clear; there was no effective supporting infrastructure; there was a lack of legal awareness of ecological compensation for water resources development. Targeted proposals were made for the construction of an ecological compensation mechanism for water resources development in Ankang City.
