Are Narratives of the So-Called “Disordered Narrative” Films Really Disordered? A Test and Further Reflection on “Disordered Narrative” in Current Films

因为潜在地预留了需要观众理解影片叙事的位置,大众电影、主流电影领域几乎不可能出现真正叙事混乱、叙事无序的影片。而当代电影中潮流性涌现的碎片化叙事、模块化叙事、复杂叙事,可被视为当代全球化、计算机化、网络化、碎片化、块茎化的社会文化范式及断裂式的时间体验之表征。

In recent years, some scholars have identified some contemporary films which have jumbled plot, disordered narratives, or unordered narratives. A careful analysis of related films reveals that narratives of these films are not disordered, namely, they have some hidden order and rules, disordered narrative is just false appearance of these films. Fragmented narrative, modular narrative and complex narrative in contemporary movies have been a tendency, which can be regarded as representation of contemporary social and cultural paradigm of globalization, computerization, networking, fragmentation and rhizome, also as representation of fragmented time experience.
