＂Influence and Resistance＂ refers to a series of urban renewal strategies and experiments for Nantou Historic Town, which had been exhibited in the 2017 Shenzhen ＆ Hong Kong Bi- City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture. This project was developed based on the ＂open＂ design studio program, which aims to explore innovative design pedagogy at the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University. The description of Nantou Historic Town as both ＂one locus＂ and ＂one type＂ illustrates the value of the architectural experiment entitled ＂resistance＂ on this specific site. It offers critical reflections on Shenzhen＇s urban village based on the following thematic analyses in the urban renewal strategies： infrastructure and mobility, formation of public spaces, and transformation between capital and space.
