The general development situation and trend of automobile driving system were studied. Its structure function,classification requirements and failure forming mechanism were analyzed. The existing problems and key technologies were discussed. The common fault diagnosis and maintenance technology were put forward. Based on the above,the vehicles has high transport efficiency,good ride comfort,the system has low failure rate,small safety hazard and long life,the tires,parts,fuel consumption is few.
