Editor＇s note： President Xi Jinping pointed out in the Forum of Literary and Art Work that fine traditional Chinese culture marks the mental lifeblood of our nation and significant source of core socialist values. The Peking Opera represents an important carrier of inheriting fine traditional Chinese culture. It shows the traditional ethics and is loaded with national feelings. It plays an important role in educating people. With the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics stepping into a new era, what will Peking Opera do to seize the period of vitality and hope, boost the development of the era and play a greater role？ This has drawn increasing attention from literary and art workers. Recently, this journal interviewed the members of the CPPCC and the first-level actors of National Peking Opera Company who are Zhang Jianguo, Yuan Huiqin and Dong Yuanyuan. They would give advice on how to develop Peking Opera in the new era and make new achievements.
