“华人”类著作分类问题初探

Analysis of Classification Problems of Books on " Ethnic Chinese"

"华人""外籍华人""华侨"是不同概念,但编目实践中,编目人员常常不能正确分清三者区别,在涉及"华人"类著作的分类时会感到困惑、产生分歧,造成将"外籍华人"错分入"华侨"类等分类乱象,影响图书馆馆藏建设和读者服务等工作,也降低了馆际互借等文献资源共享的范围和应用率。《中图法》、CALIS、编目人员三方面共同努力,可以有效解决"华人"类著作分类问题。

＂ Ethnic Chinese＂, ＂ Chinese with Foreign Nationality＂ and ＂ Oversea Chinese＂ are different concepts,but when classifying books,some catalogers can＇t differentiate these three clearly,so that they will get confused,meet disagreement and make errors such as mistaking ＂ Chinese with Foreign Nationality＂ into the ones on ＂ Oversea Chinese＂.These classification errors can diminish the collection construction and readers service,and narrow the range and utility ratio of literature resources sharing represented by interlibrary loan.Three sides including Chinese Library Classification,CALIS and catalogers work together can deal with this problem effectively.
