兼容与冲突:系统功能语言学与语料库语言学的互鉴互补

Compatibility and Conflict:Mutual Reference and Complementarity between SFL and CL

系统功能语言学与语料库语言学均以外化自然语言为研究对象,强调语言的社会文化属性,探索语内、语外因素对意义表征的制约作用。虽然两者所用术语与研究方法不同,但其语境语域思想是兼容相通的。在词汇与语法关系问题上,其都尝试以连续的方式将词汇和语法统一起来,但分别以精密度与型式概念构建了语法优先与以词汇为中心两种相对立的语言描述模式,分歧较大。两者之间的兼容与分歧造就了其在语篇语义研究中的互鉴互补潜势与作为空间。

Both SFL and CL take the externalized natural occurring language as their objects,and emphasize its social and cultural attributes.With two different sets of terminology and methodology,both explore the influence of internal and external linguistic factors on meaning representation.It was found that SFL and CL share parallel and compatible ideas in context and register.The research also found that SFL and CL diverge far from each other in their understanding of the relationship between lexis and grammar.Although both try to unify lexis and grammar in a continum,yet they establish two opposing schema of language description modes：grammar-prioritized and phrase-centered with the concepts of precision and pattern respectively.The compatibility and divergence between SFL and CL create the dual potential of mutual reference and complementarity in the study of discourse semantics.
