摘要
Robert Kaplan开创的对比修辞研究到今天已经经历了五十多年,取得了很多研究成果。然而,围绕"写作与文化的关系"这一核心问题仍存在争议。借鉴之前研究的成果,本研究采用问卷调查和回顾访谈与文本分析相结合的综合研究方法,以期全面展现作者和读者因素与文章修辞结构的关系。研究发现中国学生的中英作文修辞结构既呈现出相似性也存在差异;中英作文结构的选择受到多种因素的影响,包括学生的写作知识和信念,写作任务和条件,学生二语水平等;结构的选择存在无意识性和偶然性,缺乏规划。
The field of Contrastive Rhetoric,initiated by Robert Kaplan’s pioneer work,has seen prolific studies and innovations in the past 50 years.Drawing on previous work,this research compensates the limitations of text analysis with qualitative data on student writers’experiences in writing Chinese and English essays and their views of the rhetoric traditions of the two languages.The study finds that there are both similarities and differences between students’Chinese and English essay structures,and that students’choice of structures are influenced by multiple factors,including previous learning and writing experiences,writing tasks,and second language proficiency.
